Salon Policies

Our goal at 18|8 Westwood is to provide quality service, in a timely manner, and in a professional, upscale environment. In order to do this, we have implemented the following policies. We will also be asking all clients to update their client profile cards so that we have accurate contact information on file.

APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATIONS

We have multiple communication protocols in place to remind you of your appointment. Text message and email confirmations are sent at the time your appointment is booked. Text message and email reminders are sent the day before your appointment to remind you that your appointment is coming up. Please reply to these automated messages. Finally, if you have not confirmed your appointment, we may call or text you to confirm. If you have not confirmed your appointment we reserve the right to offer that time slot to another guest.

Please understand that it is your responsibility to remember your appointment dates and times in order to avoid missed appointments and cancellation fees. You are always welcome to call us at 781-917-3333 to check the status of your appointment.

LATE POLICY

One client running late will throw the rest of our day off, resulting in us running late for clients who showed up on time. We have a 5-minute grace period after which we will call to check on you. We will do our best to accommodate your service, however we reserve the right to reduce the service experience, or the entire service may be forfeited completely. Members late more 10 minutes will have their service forfeited completely. Arriving any later for a scheduled appointment is considered a no-show.

CANCEL OR RE-SCHEDULE POLICY

If you do need to cancel or re-schedule an appointment, we appreciate having a 24-hour advanced notice. Any late cancellation or re-schedule occurring within less than 4 hours before the appointment start time is subject to a 50% fee, which is also equal to 50% of the value of service(s) booked.

NO SHOW POLICY

Starting Jan 1, 2023 any first no-show within a calendar year is subject to a 50% no-show fee, which is equal to 50% of the value of service(s) booked; any additional no-show within the same calendar year is subject to a 100% no-show fee. Any late cancellation or re-schedule occurring within less than 4 hours before the appointment start time is subject to a 50% fee, which is also equal to 50% of the value of service(s) booked.

We reserve the right to enforce a walk-in-only or pay-ahead-to-book policy for Guests who exhibit patterns of being late, cancelling or re-scheduling within less than 2 hours of an appointment, no-showing, or any combination of these. By booking with us, you consent to being subject to our fees as payment for our time that we had set aside for your appointment. Missed appointments affect not only the business but also the stylist/barber – a gap in a stylist/barber’s schedule can have a significant impact on a stylist’s earning potential, including both income provided by the business as well as any gratuities you may have otherwise provided.

By agreeing to our appointment policy and booking with us, you authorize us to charge the credit card you may have on file with us or to make payment upon request for any no-show or late/re-schedule fees incurred. When booking online, you will be asked to place a valid card on file to hold your reservation – your card is held securely via PCI-compliant processes and the actual full card number is neither stored in our point-of-sale system nor visible to our team.

SALON ETIQUETTE

We promote an upscale, professional and relaxing environment free from obscenities and disruptive behavior. We have a zero-tolerance policy for offensive, inappropriate or disrespectful comments and behavior. To maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism in our salon and for the safety of our team, so our staff is not allowed to give out their personal contact information.

CHILD SAFETY POLICY

For safety reasons, no children are allowed in the cutting area unless they are currently receiving a service. Children are not allowed to sit on a parent’s lap during a service. Our salon is not child proof. Sharp implements, hot styling tools, chemicals and a busy, congested area make for a potentially dangerous environment for young children.
